William Samuel Potvin

June 22, 1941 – October 12, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of William (Bill) Potvin announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife Maria, son Brent (Debbie), granddaughters Laysha & Desiree, Patrick (Lindsey), Monica as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his loving parents Wilfred and Sophia Potvin, brother Garry and first wife Lillian. Bill grew up on the farm in Islay and his accountant background led him from the Peace Country to Hay River NWT, Lethbridge, Fort Vermilion, Fort McMurray and lastly Fort Saskatchewan. Bill Loved both playing and coaching sports, fishing, hunting, travel but most of all giving back to the community through the Knights of Columbus, Alberta Sports Council, Chairing the senior games in Fort Saskatchewan and numerous other events. Bill was a selfless person who made time for others. He loved to entertain and always had a joke to share or a story to tell. He lived life to its fullest

A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Angels Catholic church at 1 p.m. on October 21, 2022 in Fort Saskatchewan 10004 101 St, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 1V9, with reception to follow the service at the Pioneer House across the street. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fort Saskatchewan Hospital.
