this world, at the age of 80, in Edmonton, Alberta.
Terri loved travel, so we anticipate that this journey will have her reunited with her parents,
Marcel and Cecilia Pilon who both predeceased her. She is survived by her 5 children; Marlene
Sweet, 1967, Michelle McLay, 1969 (Scott), Ramona Lenz, 1972 (Bill), Timothy Trischuk, 1975
(Leslie), and Andrea Layton, 1983. Terri will also be missed by her 9 much-beloved
grandchildren, 6 siblings, and many extended family members.
Terri was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan and lived a life defined by hard work, love of
travel and the arts. During her early days as a telephone operator, through her combined
certification as a Lab & X-ray Technician, and the many years that followed at the Urban Dental
Clinic in Fort Saskatchewan. Terri curated a musical soundtrack that accompanied her life. This
included: her days in school band, supporting her children’s ballet or bass guitar and vocal
singing endeavors, taking in musicals or shows, and learning the ukulele and piano once retired.
Most recently, she spent innumerable happy moments ushering at the Dow Centennial Centre
since her retirement in 2014. Terri taught us many lessons in life, not the least of which was her
love of great fashion, food and togetherness. Please consider gathering with us to celebrate some
of these memories, or other memories you have.
A Funeral Service for Terri will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Having lived in many provinces, Fort Saskatchewan and Edmonton were much-loved
communities for Terri. In keeping true to Terri’s example, we request no flowers, but welcome
your generosity through donations to the Edmonton Arts Council or Fort Saskatchewan’s Families First Society.
