I am jenny mcdonnell maries cousin from england.
We grew up in shepherds bush in the 60s with our parents,our dads were brothers john and kevin mcdonnell.
My 3 brothers tony steven john and david maries brother enjoyed happy times with our parents during family holidays to butlins.
Marie and myself were in the brownies.
My mum and mary mcdonnell were great friends. 
We grew apart because of the distance but marie was my cousin and may she be dancing with the angels now.
Although we are thousands of miles away my love and sympathy goes out to paddy and children.
Also to david and denise mcdonnell.

I met sweet Marie at church. She was so lovely. I can remember her coming to my house and having card making parties. She was so very talented but not only that she encouraged us all who did not know what we were doing. We laughed and ended up taking a beautiful card or two home.  Although I have not been close to Marie for a while I will treasure those memories of my beautiful Irish friend.  I will see you again one day in heaven.

Not sure when exactly I met Marie but it was probably at a Ladies meeting through the church.  But we got to know each other better when her work hours changed and she needed before school care for Caitlin. In her grade 3 year I think.  Caitlin would come early and walk with my kids to school.    As with most kids,  Caitlin would tell Marie all about us and she would tell me about the Dooley family .  Marie and I got a lot of laughs about the things we both heard.  We also Loved to make cards together.  Marie was just so talented  and I always learned so much from her..  As with most friendships, those were just the start - there were the walks with our dogs Maggie and Molly, the coffee's  outside in her gazebo,  and hundreds of hours talking about what we would do when we both were feeling better.  Guess that's yet to come.  I treasured my friendship with Marie so much and miss her so much!

I first really met “cousin” Marie in 1990 when she moved with Paddy and Sean to Canada and lived with us for a while.  Over the years, I had enjoyed many fun times with her and the family and watched her children grow into the great adults they are today.   I will remember all the good times spent with her and she will live on through all the great memories we made over the years.  Rest now cousin.  Rest in peace knowing your light will shine through those who had the privilege to get to know her over the years.

I was very sad to hear about Marie's passing from her brother Dave.  I met Marie in the late 80's when I started working in AnCO in Dublin. We hit it off straight away and had many a laugh together!. Marie loved her cream meringues from the Kylemore along with her coffee for her tea-break ...  We worked together for a number of years and then we both got married in the same year 1989,  me to Jimmy and Marie to Paddy.  They both headed off to Canada then when Sean was a baby and we kept in touch for years after that. It doesn't seem like nearly 30 yrs ago. We were reunited thanks to Facebook then in 2009.  I was sorry to hear of Marie's illness a few years ago.  She has had a tough few years and was so brave.  It was great though to meet up with her again 2 years ago when she was in Dublin.  We had a coffee and a good yap!  She has been in my thoughts and prayers since then and I was so sorry to hear that she has passed away.  I will be thinking of Marie at her service tomorrow and will light a candle for her. My condolences go to Paddy and the family at this very sad time.  May she Rest in Peace . Caroline x

It is with great sadness we hear of the passing of Marie. 
Marie was a family friend when she was living in Ireland ( Dublin ) sister to my childhood best friend Dave and later wife  to another of my best friends Paddy. 
A memory 
Marie was a few years older than us and was a mother hen to us ,
I remember when Marie and Paddy were 1st going out  it was a bit of a surprise , one night all the rest of the gang were out celebrating Halloween drinking an old Irish drink poitin worse for wear we decided to gate crash marie and paddy babysitting were we continued to celebrate a bit too much and made a bit of a mess , Marie being  marie got us out as quick as she could got the house back in order with no one else the wiser . Thanks Marie ☺

 To Dave, Paddy,family and friends I would like to offer our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time from Carol and David carey and all the Carey and Brennan families here in Ireland may Marie rest in peace.
