April 25, 1926 – May 21, 2023
Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Marian Robinson at the age of 97 on May 21, 2023 at the Northern Lights Hospital in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Marian was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on April 25, 1926. Marian was predeceased by her loving husband Roy Robinson on November 19, 2021 at the age of 97 in Duncan, B.C.
Marian and Roy met in their late teens at a school dance in Snowden, Saskatchewan. It was love at first sight. Roy’s mother always said, “They were made for each other”. While Marian worked at the T.B. Sanitarium in Prince Albert Roy enlisted in the Canadian Air Force and later earned his pharmacy degree. They married on June 17, 1950 and a few years later moved to Uranium City to open Robinson’s Rexall Drugstore. They spent many hours together running the store, raising their family and being very active in the community and the United Church. Over the 30 years spent in Uranium City, they made many lasting close friendships, which lasted their lifetime. They retired to Vancouver Island and spent 40 years golfing and travelling with friends and spent their summers with their family.
They are survived by their son Chris (Michelle) Robinson, daughter Cindy (Bill) Loutitt, granddaughters Michaela and Kataln Loutitt and Jill (Derek) Galipeau, great grandchildren Asher and Luna Galipeau; and Roy’s sister Beverly Smears and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the healthcare team at the Northern Lights Hospital in Fort McMurray and Carinsmore Long term Facility in Duncan B.C.
In August of this year, a graveside Remembrance of Life will be held for both Marian and Roy at the Snowden Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.riverviewfuneral.com for the Robinson family.
