With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Doug Payne of Fort Saskatchewan on July 6, 2023, at the age of 64 years. He taught us the importance of family, the understanding of a hard work ethic, and he gave us the gift of unconditional love.
He will be lovingly remembered by Feiona; his children: Wes (Amy), Chris and Amanda; grandchildren: Brandon, Brydon, Alyanna, Bentley, Bexlen and Kezlen; siblings, Debbie (Lloyd), Dan (Joanne), Donna (Jim); many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous relatives and friends. A special thanks to his dear friend Byron who was always supportive and there for him.
Doug was born in Edmonton Alberta, and he was the 2nd oldest of 4 children. The family lived in Edmonton and moved to the farm near Josephburg in November of 1967. Doug grew up working on the farm raising cows, chickens, and pigs. At the age of 10 years old, he began working in the family drywall/stucco business with his dad. Doug attended high school at Salisbury Composite High in Sherwood Park Alberta and continued working in the family business for most of his career. In 1979, he met Rhonda Kana, and they married in May of 1980 and had 3 children. Doug had a passion for cars (especially his mustang), travelling, camping, riding his numerous machines he had (especially his side by side), family dinners in the garage, spending time with his grandchildren, and listening to his favorite country songs.
Doug was predeceased by his parents: Ken and Myrna Payne.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
