Kim Bonish, aged 67, of Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, passed away on March 20, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1956, in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, to Della and the late Eldon Janzen. Kim lived a life that many could only dream of—full of determination, kindness, generosity, and optimism that could light up the darkest rooms.
Kim's loving and bold spirit will be forever missed by her husband, Ron Bonish; their son, Delaney (wife Ashley) and their children, Luca, Declan, and Jet; their daughter, Brittany, and her child, Stevie; their son, Deyton (wife Jessica) and their child, Grey; her loving mother, Della Janzen; and her siblings, Karen (husband Doug), Deb, and Allan (wife Noriko).
A University of Saskatchewan graduate, Kim co-founded Valley Drug Mart in 1987, dedicating her career to advocating for the health and well-being of her community. If Kim set her sights on something, you could consider it done. Beyond her professional success, Kim was passionate about traveling, gardening, golfing, baking, hiking, biking, and playing pickleball. In her younger years, she was an avid curler and obtained her green belt in karate. She found her greatest joys and adventures in the beautiful summers at Echo Lake and the sunny winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Kim's legacy is marked by her huge heart and open arms, her unwavering love for family, and her happiest days spent at the lake. To honor her giving nature, the family encourages contributions to The All Nations Healing Hospital Charity Fund, Box 300, Fort Qu'Appelle SK S0G 1S0 instead of flowers.
A memorial service will be held in the Balcarres Lions Hall, Balcarres, Saskatchewan on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. It will be a time for us to share memories, laughter, and tears as we celebrate a life that was a gift to us all.
