Darwin was predeceased by his older brother Howard. Surviving siblings are Marlene, Murray, and families.
Darwin graduated from Wolseley High School and attended the University of Saskatchewan, then worked in accounting and sales in Sherwood Park, Alberta. In 1976 Darwin and Elaine decided to move north of Balcarres to farm. During his time of farming he became the RM administrator at Tullymet.
Darwin was a member of the Provincial Executive School Trustees Association, the Hospital Board, a chartered member of the Lions Club in Katepwa and he was also a member and Treasurer of the Anglican Church in Balcarres. In Darwin’s retirement, he enjoyed golfing, bridge, and chess, as well as singing with the Fireside Singers and Calling Lakes Choir.
Following 61 years of marriage, Dar is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter Cara (John); son Craig (Vanessa); and his grandchildren: Francesca, Kenadie, Kaylee and Karsten.
The funeral service will take place in St. John’s Anglican Church in Fort Qu’Appelle on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Dunfield officiating. An interment for Darwin's immediate family will take place.
