1937 - 2013
Kenneth Francis Ryder, 75, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Fort Pierce, Florida. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Kayser of New Milford, CT, Linda Kish of Naugatuck, CT, their spouses James and Richard, respectively, and a granddaughter, Caitlyn McLaughlin of Shelton, CT. He joins his parents Millicent Ada Moore Ryder and Herbert Joseph Ryder and his sister Rosemary in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Born in Waterbury, CT on November 19, 1937, Ken spent his early years in Waterbury and Cheshire, CT, graduating from Horace Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden. He served in the United States Air Force in the late 50’s to early 60’s, stationed in Turkey. Upon his return, he settled in Prospect, CT, remaining there until he relocated to Florida 4 years ago, first to Stuart and in the last two years residing in Fort Pierce. A Toolmaker by trade, he spent his career in cosmetics manufacturing and design at Eyelet Specialty, Bridgeport Metal Goods, Rexam Manufacturing and Mark Industries, all in CT, in the manufacture of cosmetic cases and was involved in the design of applications still used in many of today’s products. Ken had a wide-ranging taste in music, with a particular love for jazz and was a member of the Fort Pierce Jazz Society.
