John (known as “Jack”) was born in Bradley Beach, New Jersey on January 7, 1935. Jack moved to Florida from Bayville, New Jersey with his wife Judy in 1996. Jack served in the Air Force as a flight engineer and he retired, after 30 years of service, as a Master Sergeant from the New Jersey Air National Guard where he was an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor. Jack was very good at playing the piano, even though he never learned to read music. He loved the water and would have lived on a house boat if Judy would have agreed! He also played soft ball on many teams over the years and he knew the rules! Jack and Judy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in March 2014 at one of their favorite places – Disney World.
Jack was preceded in death by his grandson, Zane Ziemba.
Jack is survived by his wife Judy; brother Don Horner and sister-in-law Joyce (Las Vegas); daughter Jeri and son-in-law Oren Rosenthal and their children Emily, Jeffrey and Olivia (Sarasota); daughter Jill Ziemba and her children Sydney and Stone Ziemba (Port St. Lucie); and son-in-law Lare Ziemba and wife Jean (Port St. Lucie.)
