He was born March 1, 1932 in Bronx, NY to Olga and Raymond Carter. He attended Rice High School and graduated from SUNY at White Plains in 1951. He then married Margaret (Peggy) McCarthy in 1952 and proceeded to have 6 children, Raymond, Thomas (Diane), Margaret (Raymond Indelicato) , Kathryn (William Mascio), Susanne (Salvatore Farruggia) and Michael (Carol). He started a long and illustrious career first at Texaco and finally retired in 1997 from Joel Greenberg Architects.
Ray and Peggy moved to Carmel in 1952 staying until 2004 and then moving onto Ft Myers Florida where he was able to work on his golf game. He retired from Kelly Greens with a 25 handicap and passes his clubs onto his son Raymond.
They were blessed with 13 grandchildren; Michelle Mascio, Erin Mascio, Michael Carter, Robin Mascio, Sal Farruggia, Jason Carter, Alexandria Carter, Laura Farruggia, Anthony Farruggia, Raymond Indelicato, Margaret Indelicato, Tara Indelicato and Kyler Carter.
He had many favorite nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws and a many friends in Kelly Greens and Faith Methodist Church in Ft Myers.
There will be a funeral mass at St James the Apostle in Carmel NY on October 22, 10 am, Reception to follow.
