Sadly, we share that “Mimi”, to all who knew her, passed away on October 27, 2017 .
Born on February 13, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio to Sidney and Rose (Bloch) Krasnoff, she lived in Shaker Heights for most of her 95 years, spending many winters in Naples and, more recently, Fort Myers, Florida.
She was married to Stanley Shuler (deceased) and travelled extensively with him as a partner in his pewter manufacturing business, making friends in many countries. Their son Kenneth Andrew Shuler was an integral part of the creation and evolution of the Instructional Media Center at Marquette University, prior to his death in 1975 at the age of 25. He died in a plane crash over the Smoky Mountains and Mimi and Stanley flew with the Civil Air Patrol to find and recover his body.
They, then, established a scholarship in his name at Marquette and, for many years, supported students who became part of their family for years.
She married Milton Wolfson (deceased) in 1996 and became a loving and beloved part of his family.
She and both of her husbands were patrons of the Arts, supporting the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Symphony and the Naples Philharmonic.
Also surviving Mimi are her sister, Elaine Krasnoff Stein, her nieces Betsey Stein Kenyon (Donald) and Laurie Stein Marsh (Ty), her adored grand nephew and fiancée, Andrew Kopf and Sarah Price, Mimi’s stepson and wife, Warren (Renny) and Anne Marie Wolfson, step-granddaughters Amanda and Kimberly Wolfson, step-son Charlie (Deceased) and wife Simone Wolfson, and former long-time caregiver, Sheila Byrd Wanliss, plus a host of friends.
She has been a resident of the memory care unit at Discovery Village at the Forum in Fort Myers for the last several years, where her care was exceptional and where she made so many of the personnel smile.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, so remember her joyful smile and happy demeanor that remained with her until the end.
If you choose to honor her memory with a donation, Joanne’s House of Bonita Springs (Hope Hospice) or the charity of your choice is suggested, with any acknowledgements sent to:
