From the words of his favorite singer, Ozzy Osbourne, Matt will “see you on the other side.”
Matt was born in Columbus, Ohio to Don and Donna Sova Burbacher.
Matt and his family moved to Florida in 1986.
From an early age, he loved sports. During his school years, Matt participated in many sports, but excelled in wrestling and soccer.
Matt’s charismatic personality led to the development of many lifelong friendships.
After attending The Ohio State University, Matt returned to Fort Myers and began working with his father managing storage facilities. He gained a respect for responsibility in management. His next venture was a position with a real estate investment company. He traveled the world teaching the principles of investing in real estate.
During this time, he met and married Kimberlee Clark, and had three sons.
Matt received numerous accolades throughout his career.
We will remember Matt for his love of people, humor, and his ability to make people feel at ease. He was able to anticipate needs in every situation. He was the “best friend” offering support and advice to anyone who asked.
Matt was the epitome of an Ohio State Buckeye’s fan. He never missed a football game, even traveling across the country to the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe Arizona.
Matt is survived by his three sons, Aiden, Andrew, and Justin.
He leaves his mother, Donna Burbacher, brothers Joe (Kristine), Brady (Joanna) and nieces, Lauren, Claire, Gwyn and Kaylyn; nephews, Zachary, Samuel, and Ethan, and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins as well his beloved dog, Sabbath.
He is preceded in death by his father Don, grandparents Joseph and Justina Sova, and Don and Lois Burbacher.
Matt, you will be in our hearts forever.
