Mary Ann was born on October 30, 1930 to Hazen and Julia McComb. She grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She received a Bachelor’s degree in education from Wayne State University. Mary Ann met her husband, Steve, on a blind date. They fell in love and three years later married on Christmas Day. They
had three children together; Jim, Janis and Carol. She was an amazing, loving and caring wife and mother.
They moved to Grosse Ile to raise their family. They enjoyed boating and friends from the Grosse Ile Yacht Club.
Mary Ann worked together with Steve at their business, White Automotive Service, for 25 years.
After retiring, Mary Ann and Steve moved to Sand Key, Florida where they led an active life of traveling, boating, tennis and coach traveling. Mary Ann and Steve enjoyed spending time with family and friends. They were very involved with their church and Mary Ann sang in the choir.
Mary Ann was a very kind person to everyone. She did not judge and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She was very proud of her family and cherished quality time with them.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Steve White; her son, Jim White, and her parents, Hazen and Julia McComb.
She is survived by her daughters, Janis McCarthy and Carol Jugan; son-in-law, Devin McCarthy; her grandchildren: Julia Savard, Ryan McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, Andrew McCarthy, Devin McCarthy, Michael Jugan and Matthew Jugan; along with 9 great- grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on December 27th at 6:15 PM at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home in Ft. Myers, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation: www.alz.org.
