Margaret Mary Kobe Harrington went home to the Lord on September 29, 2016. She was the daughter of Walter and Emma Kobe, and loving wife of John Harrington (68 years), mother of Kathleen (Joseph) Lehrter and Colleen (Kevin) Fitzpatrick, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of five. Born on December 14, 1926 in Halfway, Michigan, she was a graduate of St. Theresa HIght School and volunteered as a candy striper. She went on to the University of Detroit and earned a degree in biology. She was a member of Sigma Delta Sorority. It was at U of D that she met Jack Harrington and they were married in St. Ceceilia Catholic Church in Detroit Michigan. She was the mother of nine children, only two of which survived. For many years Margie and Jack resided in Dearborn Heights Michigan where she was a homemaker who loved to sew and knit. She was also a second grade teacher at Our Lady of Grace School, a Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Altar Society. In 1973, they moved to Lake Sherwood, Milford where they enjoyed fishing and boating. Retirement took them to Sanibel Island, Florida where they resided for twenty years. Margie so enjoyed shelling on the Gulf beaches. For seventeen years she organized the St. Isabel Children of Migrant Workers Christmas Parties and Bereavement luncheon ministry for the parish. In 2005 a final move was made to Shell Point Retirement community in Fort Myers Florida.
