It is with great sadness that we announce the death of beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda Wilson. She passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 71, after a courageous 3.5-year battle with lung cancer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda was born on February 28, 1953, to Rose (Lavoie) and Joseph Grandmaison, and she was the youngest of 13 children. She grew up in Worcester, MA and met the love of her life, her husband Richard, at the age of 17. They married, started a family, and lived in Revere, MA for 15 years. They moved to Leominster, MA in 1986, where they lived for 24 years, before relocating to Fort Myers, FL in 2010.
Linda was a homemaker for many years, and became a realtor once her daughters were older. When she and her husband moved to FL, they made a great team with him building and her selling houses together. They loved spending time together and were each other’s best friend. Linda was so proud of her daughters, and always loved visiting with them. She adored her granddaughter, and being with her brought her so much joy. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, shopping, going out to eat, and taking care of her family, home, and many beloved pets throughout the years.
Linda loved her husband and daughters unconditionally and selflessly devoted her whole life to them. Her love and generosity knew no bounds. She was the heart of her home and family, a wonderful wife and mother, and according to her granddaughter, “the best Grandma in the whole wide world”. She was delighted to become a grandmother at the age of 65 and we wish she could have had more time in that role. Her husband Richard loved her dearly with all his heart and she meant the whole world to him. Her three daughters loved her very much, and the whole family will miss her terribly. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 53 years, Richard Leo Wilson; her three daughters, Kristin Michelle Wilson of Punta Gorda, FL, Kim Ann Wilson (fiancé Steve Evans) of Winchendon, MA, and Kylee Rose Noga (husband Vincent Noga) of Boston, MA; as well as her 6-year-old granddaughter, Kelsey Kara Evans; and her loving pets. Linda was predeceased by her parents, several siblings, and her second born daughter, Kara Lynn Wilson.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 12:00pm at The Church of the Resurrection, located at 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL, where Linda was a member. A celebration of life will also be held in February for her loved ones in MA.
