Francis L. Wilson, 88 of Fort Myers passed away on May 21, 2018. He was born in Monroe, Georgia on November 16, 1929 to Clifford and Ouida Wilson. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s degree in Entomology. Francis served in the U.S. Navy attaining the rank Lt. JG during the Korean War. Following his military service he became the Director of Environmental Services for Polk County for over thirty years. He and his wife Margie are members of Cypress Lake United Methodist Church.
Francis is survived by his wife, Margie, son Paul L. (Vickie) Wilson, daughter Anita (Harry) Wilson-Cameron, grandchildren, Joshua (Emerald) Wilson, Nathan M. (Kara) Wilson, Paul F. (Lisa) Wilson, and Amanda (Todd) Kawecki. Great-Grandchildren, Nathan R. Wilson, Zoey Wilson, Luke Wilson, Levi Wilson, Wyatt Kawecki, brothers-in laws Ray Burke, Bob Warmoth and sister-in law Peggy Propst as well as several cousins and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church at 2:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
