Cecil was born on August 23, 1938 in Zolfo, Florida to Ollie Mae Lowe and Woodrow Wilson Clanton. Cecil enlisted in the Air Force in 1955, attained the rank of Master Sergeant and retired on October 1, 1975. He served in Italy, Taiwan and Vietnam.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy, of 55 years, his 3 daughters; Janis Laycock, husband John; Sandra Medrano, husband Martin, and Becky Miller. Sister, Margaret Wright and Brothers Larry Dimas and Gary Dimas. He has 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Mother, Ollie Mae Lowe, his Father, Woodrow Wilson Clanton and his sister, Velma Clanton-Herrera.
Cecil is a long-time member of the Church of Christ.
