Carol was born June 9, 1947, in Warsaw, MO, a daughter of the late Clonnie Taylor and Alma Quigley. Carol later moved with her parents to Kansas City, KS then settled in Overland Park, KS where she raised 3 children. Her and her husband, Dennis Wood retired to Florida in 2015.
Carol never met a stranger. She could sit next to anyone and strike up a conversation, offering her friendship if even for that moment in time. She was always willing to lend a hand, doing what she could to make special moments truly special.
Carol spent over 40 years working in the transportation industry with logistics and trucking. However, her passion was cooking and entertaining. She not only served her dishes but had a way of presenting what she cooked.
Carol is survived by her husband, Dennis of the home, two sons, Todd Scholtz of Olathe, KS and Rod Russell of Lenexa,KS, one daughter Melissa Nelson of Coto de Caza, CA, one step-daughter Amy Wood of Watauga, TX, four step-sons, Thomas Wood of Richmond Hill, GA, Larry Wood of Ft Worth, TX, Dennis G Wood of Ft Worth, TX and Bryan Wood of Azle, TX. Twenty grandchildren, Kara and Hagen Scholtz of Olathe, KS, Travis Russell of Olathe, KS, Trey, Sadie and Tanner Nelson of Coto de Caza, CA, McKenzie, Emma and Brooklyn Greener of Watauga, TX, Riddick, Haleigh and Bryson Wood of Richmond Hill, GA, Kaleigh Beard, James, Levi and Stetson Wood of Ft Worth, TX, Abby, Tristan and Gracie Wood of Ft Worth, TX, Paisley Wood of Lehigh Acres, FL.
A celebration of the life of this special lady will be held in the home at 20028 Petrucka Cir N Unit 2 Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 on Sunday February 13, 2022, from 1 till 4 PM. There will be another celebration of her life at the home of Todd Scholtz, 14637 S Constance, Olathe, KS on Sunday June 5, 2022 from 1 till 4 PM.
