Rosalie D’Andrea Larsen was born Oct 10, 1929 to Louis and Mathilda D’Andrea in New York. Daughter of well-known clothier and habadasher, D’Andrea of Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, she was raised in New York and Rockville Center, Long Island.
Rosalie married Preben Larsen, son of the famous Larsen shipping magnate. After their brief marriage and divorce, Rosalie pursued a career in real estate in Manhattan. Breaking glass ceilings with remarkable salesmanship, she rose to the position of Vice President of J.I. Sopher, a top-tier residential real estate firm in Manhattan.
Rosalie enjoyed an active social life in glamorous Manhattan, and lived in the upscale east side neighborhood of Sutton Place. Always active, she became passionate about golf. An avid player, Rosalie also holds a patent on a golf device called the “Stick Twist,” U.S. Patent No. Des. 403,731 issued Jan. 5, 1999.
Retiring early, she bought a condo in South Florida, sight unseen, in what was then a new development on a golf course.
Once retired, Rosalie played golf almost every day, and attended dinners and galas at her club, at Sabal Palm. Rosalie could sing karaoke with the best!
Rosalie was an active parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Davie, Florida. A service will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 22.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawnsouth.com for the Larsen family.
