Marie Nicole Bien-Aime, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Marc Bienaime, seven adoring children, and thirteen cherished grandchildren.
Marie’s marriage to Marc was a testament to enduring love. She enjoyed their journey together, with their matrimonial union, lasting 48 years to the day. Marie’s commitment to being a dutiful and supportive wife, served as a shining example of loyalty and devotion, to her family and friends.
Motherhood was an easy role for Marie. Seven children attest to her remarkable ability to forge deep connections with each of them as individuals. Daughters: Marie Martin, Wendy Colomathi, Catuscia Clerie, Stacey Bien-Aime. Sons: Antoine Bien-Aime, Paul Bien-Aime, Stanley Bien-Aime. Marie recognized their uniqueness, understanding their make-up and what drives each of them to success. She intimately knew their interests and aspirations. She was not just a mother but a confidante, mentor, and a guiding force in their lives. Marie instilled the values of kindness, empathy, and resilience into her children. She was a steady rock, always balancing support and encouragement, which helped them blossom into loving parents themselves. Her grandchildren are Ashley Bionca Martin, Jonathan Elijah Martin, Giovanni Bien-Aime, Gianna Bien-Aime, Jacob Bien-Aime & Fabien Bien-Aime & Myles Bien-Aime, Dimitrie Lewis, Kobe Colomathi, Jashawn Vassell, Karter Bien-Aime Savannah Bien-Aime, and Cameron Francois. She leaves a legacy of fine conduct for her future generations to model.
Marie had qualities of the hospitable disciple, Lydia (Acts 16). Marie’s home was always a safe haven and a source of refreshment from a tiring day. With Marie, anyone was welcome to come and relax in the warmth of her love and sample her excellent cooking. She was the epitome of kindness and empathy, putting everyone at ease in her presence with a gracious smile, warm hug, and active listening skills. Anyone could lay out their concerns and she bore their burdens in a way that made each person feel heard, valued, and understood. At the end of a good hear-to-heart, was her infectious smile, bringing inherent joy to those in its presence.
Serving the healthcare industry for decades, Nurse Marie offered medical expertise in a compassionate way. Instantly assessing and diagnosing, but delivering an accurate prognosis with concern for the patient’s long-term well-being. Marie gave her time and resources to many in need of round-the-clock care. Marie’s tenacity for herbal healing, no doubt left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Marie was an avid communicator, often using technology to spread her healing thoughts. Friends and family often woke up to an important text message or WhatsApp video that she intuitively knew would brighten or enlighten their day.
Marie Nicole Bien-Aime will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to shine brightly from the hearts of her beloved. The memory of Marie will never fade, but remain a treasured gift forever. The Bien-Aime and extended family are grateful she is laid to rest in God's memory and long for the day we will see her again (Proverbs 31: 28,29; Job 14:14,15.)
