Judith Jones

Judith Lynn Jones (formerly Taylor) was born October 5, 1955 in Warren, Ohio. Judy graduated Kent State High School and attended Kent State University. Married in Kent, OH June 1977 to Douglas Jones and moved to Philadelphia, PA. Transferred to Columbus, Ohio in 1978 and relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1980.

Judy is survived by her husband, daughter Mrs. Melissa McKinely and husband Michael McKinely of Chicago, IL; son Reverend Christopher Jones and wife Amanda Jones of Davenport, FL; and son Ryan Jones and wife Nicole Jones; granddaughter Natalie Jones of Pompano Beach, FL. Judy home schooled her three children.

At the time of her unexpected death, Judy Jones worked at Christ Church United Methodist Ft. Lauderdale in the children’s ministry.

A large ceremony conducted by pastor Brett Opalinski celebrating Judy’s life and spirit was held on Monday, August 18, 2015, at Christ Church United Methodist of Ft. Lauderdale which was attended by over 200 relatives and friends followed by a reception at the church. In attendance were sister Marcia Ihde, brother Bruce Taylor of Kent, OH; brother Charles Taylor of Mill Velley, CA; and sister Janet Keyser of Columbia, MD.
