FORTE, Joseph Rocco, born Sept. 14, 1921 in Rochester, NY passed away peacefully at home on Aug.15th at age 92. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Arlene, and by sons Paul (Linda) of Rochester, NY and Lawrence (Sandra) of Fort Lauderdale, nephew Lawrence Harrigan, several close cousins, many special friends and caretakers, especially Norma Scala. Predeceased by his parents Lorenzo and Maria, and brother Ralph. Joseph was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He served proudly in World War II as a Marine, and saw action in the North African and Pacific Theatres. A printer by trade, Joseph and Arlene, moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1971, after two years managing the Duffy’s Guesthouse in Puerto Rico. He served as the Director of Printing and Graphic Arts at Broward Community College for twenty three years. In retirement, Joseph was able to pursue his love of art and became an accomplished and prolific painter. Joseph and his beautiful wife had a long and wonderful life together, which he often testified to with his favorite saying and family motto: “Life is Good!” A Memorial Service will be held 12 noon Sat .Oct. 11, 2014 at KRAEER-FAIRHILD FH 4061 N.
