Joan Amelia Amadeo was born to Joseph and Antonina Nardolillo in Boro Park, Brooklyn, NY on April 28, 1944. She attended PS 131, Pershing Junior High School and graduated from New Utrecht High School. Upon graduation, she was employed at Neichman Imports and Exports as a personal assistant to the VP of sales. She was married to her husband Alex in 1964 and lived in Brooklyn until 1984 when she moved to Coral Springs, FL to raise her two boys, Anthony and Alexander. Joan worked at Riverside Elementary School as a paraprofessional for emotionally and physically handicapped children. Joan found the Lord and became a Christian woman in 1989 and was a devout follower of Christ. Joan was a fabulous cook and excellent housekeeper, and she enjoyed the theater, fine restaurants, and travel but mostly enjoyed her family. Her family was her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antonina (Nettie) Nardolillo, and her brother Joseph and his wife JoAnn Nardolillo. She is survived by her husband Alex, her sons Anthony and Alexander, her daughter-in-laws Sarona and Nicole, and her grandchildren Aleki, Alexander, and Ava Grace, as well as her sister Linda and her husband Tony Cerniglia.
Her favorite scriptures are Romans 8:28, Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 40:31 and Philippians 4:4-9.
A visitation for Joan will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, 2101 W. Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 2101 W. Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. A committal service will occur Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33467.
