A number of people have asked us about a funeral service for Jerry. In accordance to his wishes, he wanted a small gathering of friends around his home who wished to come. Even if you are too far away to attend, we’d like you to be here in spirit. We are planning a life celebration. Jerry was clear that he just wanted a time and place where people close to him could come and mingle and eat and remember him. We are planning it for the day of his birthday.

Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home

4061 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308

(this facility is located on the west side of Federal highway halfway between Commercial and Oakland Park Boulevards, just south of Jack's Hamburgers).

There will be light snacks, wine and beverages, and desserts starting at 1:00 PM. At 1:30 PM, the “service” will be held. It will be more of an opportunity for people to get up and reminisce about Jerry, to tell humorous stories about him and the good times you shared. We are sure that he’d want this celebration to be a fun time with some laughs. And we hope that friends will stay afterwards to partake of the fine food and conversation.

While there is no need to RSVP, we would like to know who wishes to speak. Of course, if a thought hits you during this time and you would like to share it with the group, you will be more than welcome to. We ask that in either case, you keep your remarks to 3 minutes. In lieu of flowers, we are sure that Jerry would like everyone to make a little extra time to celebrate with your loved ones now while you are together. However, we know he would greatly appreciate a donation to the organization that was his passion in his later years: Boca Helping Hands.
