Ms. Jacqueline Benoit Magloire died peacefully at home, on November 7, 2020, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of 58 years old. Jacqueline is survived by her only child, Elisabeth Benoit Magloire who resided with her in Fort Lauderdale. Jacqueline is also survived by her only sister, Elza Ledain, and three brothers: Jean Maxime Magloire, Jean Pierre Magloire, and Jean Olry Magloire, all of whom reside in Brooklyn, New York. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her youngest brother, Jean Michel Magloire, who died in 2017, and was laid to rest at Fort Jackson Cemetery, Columbia, South Carolina.
Jacqueline Magloire was born on March 26, 1962, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Pauline Elisa Aristide and Martin dit Mathieu Magloire. After completing high school, she worked as an elementary school teacher. In 1999, she moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she began a career as a Home Health Aide. In 2012, due to health issues, she retired early from her career, and moved in with her daughter, Elisabeth, in Alexandria, Virginia. They recently relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Jacqueline devoted her life to raising her daughter and practicing her Christian faith. Her hobbies include singing and dancing to her favorite Christian hymns, watching the news on television, and chatting on the phone with her best friend, Analie Dorsainvil of Miramar, Florida. She is remembered as a kind, patient, and generous mother, sister, and friend whose smile brightened the days of her loved ones.
A funeral service and reception will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 11 am, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. Pastor Leighton Lindo of First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jacqueline Magloire’s life. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery South in Davie, Florida. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home.
