George, came to America from his native Romania in 1972 in search of the American Dream. Through intelligence, tenacity and perseverance he founded and developed numerous lucrative businesses in New York and later in Florida. He was a respected businessman and a person of character who, above all, loved the opportunities afforded to him by this great country. It would be hard to find a man who loved America more than George Stan. He was, as they say, from the “old school” - a man whose word was his bond and someone who could be counted on in good times and bad. As we all celebrated Father’s Day this past weekend our thoughts recalled the man and his legacy. The lesson both learned and taught by example by George is that you do not “find” the American Dream. Instead you build it, one day at a time. George did so with grit and determination for more than half a century. Not only he was a good provider for his own family, he helped countless people along the way.
George is survived by Lucia, his lovely and devoted wife of 48 years and his daughters Adriana, Maria and Roxana. He is also survived by his grandsons Justin, Tyler and Gabriel and his great grandson Jackson.
A memorial service will be held for George on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 10 am to 3 pm.
and a religious service at 1:00 pm followed by the burial.
All services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317
