Foster Vernon Hunter, II

Foster Vernon Hunter II, born March 30, 1957 lost his battle to cancer and passed away on October 16, 2018 surrounded by loved ones while at home. He was born and raised in Ft.Lauderdale, FL and spent his career there at the family owned and operated Sunrise OK Tires store for over 45 years. “V2”, as he was called by many, was a dependable and honest face that many people had come to rely on and they would visit him at the shop often. Vern loved to joke around and was a bit of a workaholic. He was a loving husband, hard worker and friend to all. But most importantly, he was “Dad” to 6 kids and “Grandpa” to 9. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all.

He is survived by his spouse Melinda “Mindy” Hunter; his father and mother, Foster "Papa Vern" and Judith Hunter; his children, Stephanie and Robert "Jerry" Beane, Michael Hunter and his spouse, Megan Sellmer, Jeffrey Hunter, Gary and Stacie Parkes, Evan and Mariellen Parkes and Melissa Schleifer; his grandchildren, Foster, Ava, Phoenix and Adalyn Hunter, Aubree Beane, Abigail, Delilah and David Parkes, and Kyle Schleifer whom he loved dearly., his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Robert Geismar. his niece and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Hunter.

In lieu of floral offerings donations may be made to the American Cancer Association.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 at the Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Vern's funeral service will commence at 7:00 immediately upon the conclusion of visitation. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Noon at Evergreen Cemetery. 1300 NE 10th Ave, Fort Lauderdale.
