Elizabeth L. Betzler

Elizabeth Louise Slattery Betzler, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born on Friday, November 13, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, Elizabeth lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family, community, and profession.

A proud graduate of Timken High School, Elizabeth pursued her passion for nursing at Broward College and Broward Nursing School, eventually working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and later achieving her Registered Nurse (RN) designation. She served the Fort Lauderdale community with compassion and dedication throughout her career.

Elizabeth was a long-standing member of Saint Coleman’s Catholic Church, where she worshiped and contributed for over 50 years. Her faith and commitment to her church community were evident in all aspects of her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carl Paul Betzler, her sister Joanne, her brother William, and her son David. Elizabeth leaves behind seven devoted children: Larry and Randy Holland, Mary Jo Holland, William and Tracy Holland, Lisa Ann Cucchi, Steven and Becky Betzler, Linda and Jorge Puente-Duany, and Brian and Noreen Betzler, all residing in the South Florida area. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry her legacy forward.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 at the KRAEER-FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Betty's funeral service will commence on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 2:00 at St. Coleman Catholic Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
