Elaine P. Roy

Elaine (Berard) Roy, aged 86, on March 18, 2022, completed her journey through this world and slipped peacefully away. Originally from Hudson, NH, she also lived in Litchfield, East Derry, Epping, the NH seacoast region and, for a time, in California. Elaine spent her senior years living near her elder son's family on the southeast coast of Florida.

Elaine was born to Edgar and Loretta Berard on November 19, 1935. After graduating from Alvirne High School in 1953, she married Robert L. Roy. They had three children (Robert, Debra, and Richard), who they raised together before parting ways. Elaine and Robert remained friends however, and grew closer as the years passed.

Elaine loved the arts and travel and being active. As a young woman, she loved skating and dancing. She also enjoyed skiing and horseback riding. She traveled whenever she could, usually within the US, but also once to Paris, and once to Russia as part of a choral group. She painted throughout her life, and enjoyed photography - even doing so professionally. In recent years, she found joy in singing with the Nova Singers community choir in Fort Lauderdale. Wherever she went, people loved her bright smile and sunny disposition.

Elaine was very spiritual. When she was young, she attended the Presentation of Mary Academy, and St. John the Evangelist Church, both in Hudson, but explored other religious traditions as she progressed through life. She joined the Emissaries of Divine Light community in Epping, and remained deeply involved with them for much of her life.

Elaine leaves behind her sons Robert and Richard as well as her extended family of grandchildren, cousins and cherished friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
