Neil Craig Miller, 73, of Fort Lauderdale Florida went to be with his Savior Sunday April 28th at 8:30am. Craig grew up in Newport News Va, the only child of John and Margaret Miller. He graduated from Newport News High School in 1963 and went on to study engineering at Virginia Tech where he met his wife, Lorraine Shaban Miller. Craig and Lorraine married in 1966 and moved to South Florida for Craig to continue he education at the University of Miami earning his master’s degree in Urban Planning. Craig worked as an engineer for all of his adult life opening his own civil engineering company, Miller Consulting, in 1995.
Craig was very active in First Baptist Church, North Star Community Church and was an evangelist. He was involved as both player and coach in the Florida Flag Football League. He also coached three Team USA championship teams and was inducted into the Florida Flag Football Coach’s Hall of Fame.
Craig will be missed by his wife Lorraine, two children, Marc (Sonia) Miller and Michelle (Jim) Perry, his grandchildren, Cheyne (Brooke), Chelsea (Chase) Wilcocks, Chase Perry and Nina Miller, and his great grandchildren Ansley and Sadie as well as his niece Dana and Nephew Randall, extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of Craig’s life will be Friday May 3rd at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home 4061 N Federal Hwy. Fort Lauderdale. Visitation with the family will begin at 3:00pm, service will begin at 4:00pm with a reception to follow at 5:00.]
