Charlie Trice was born April 24, 1927 to the Late Gus and Lizzie Trice in Smithville, GA. Charlie was the second oldest child of nine siblings born to this Union. Gus and Lizzie Trice relocated their family to Boca Raton, FL where Charlie and his siblings lived and worked on Butts Farms. Later his parents purchased a home in Delray Beach, FL where they resided and raised their children for the remaining of their lives.
Charlie enlisted in the United States Army on August 20, 1945 where he served for a short time and was Honorably Discharded. During his time in the Army, he was trained to be a professional floor cleaner. After serving, Charlie returned to Delray, but as a young adult, Charlie relocated to New York where he enrolled in Barber School and became a license Barber. Charlie had the opportunity to own his barber shop where he serviced Malcolm X, Brook Benton, and James Brown, just to name a few, in the height of their careers.
During the 1950's Charlie met and dated the love of his life, Fannie Crenshaw. At the World famous Savory Ballroom, he asked for a dance and later in 1958 they were married.
To this union, one loving daughter was born, Genevieve Trice Evans. Retiring from his barber shop in New York after years of service, Charlie and Fannie relocated to Florida where he was employed as a Custodian with Broward County Schools District and as a part-time barber in Deerfield Beach, FL. They remained in Florida and raised their daughter and three Grandchildren, Maurice Renall Walker Jr, Marnisia Rae Walker, and Myron Rashad Walker (deceased). Charlie loved sports especially his favorite teams, the NY Jets and the Miami Dolphins. He loved to bowl and became a part of a Senior
Bowling League in Sunrise, FL Charlie's loving wife of 64 years preceded him in death, December, 2022.
Leaving to cherish his memory, is his loving and devoted Daughter, Genevieve Trice¬Evans ,(Doward), two loving Grandchildren, Maurice Renall Walker, Jr (Unique) and Marnisia Walker all of Sunrise, FL. Two Brothers, Marcellus Trice of Jamaica, New York, and James Trice (Katie) of North, Carolina. Two Sisters, Laura Trice and Jessie Trice of Delray Beach, FL and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and many relatives and friends.
Preceded him in death his Siblings, Fannie Mae Trice-Willis, Otis Trice, Robert Trice, and John Trice.
