If one had to describe Gyslaine in a few words, what comes to mind is kind, loving, giving, a great friend, mother, in-law, sibling, cook, and above all,
God fearing.
My mom was born in Jacmel, Haiti to Roziclare Cadet and Saintamise Cadet on August 4, 1942. Here education and marriage took place in Haiti before moving to the United States. Choosing to settle in Pasadena, California, she worked at Marlinda Convalescent Nursing Home over 20 years. Due to my grandmother failing health she decided to retire early. She made a tough decision to leave her life in California and move to Florida to take care of her mom along with her other siblings. Although it was a tough decision she knew I would be okay. I was 20 years old at the time. No longer a child but becoming a man. I remember all that she taught, to kind, respectful, understanding, not to judge people, and to be fair.
My mom was preceded in death by her parents Roziclare and Saintamise Cadet and brother Ricot Cadet.
Anna Gyslaine Jean is survived by her Son Reginal Jean, grandchildren Arianna and Damari Jean, Sisters and Brothers Magda (Elie) Dumeny, Serge Cadet, Josette Colinet, Lisette Channel (Glad Tibere), Marlange Colinet, Laura Michel, Jean Herriot (Carolyn) Cadet, Evangeline (Yvon) Estinvil and a host of nieces and nephews.
