Viola was born on September 27, 1924 in Fort Frances to Henry and Glorianna Derendorf. She lived in Fort Frances all of her life, she worked at various businesses in Fort Frances, making many friends along the way. After she retired Viola lived a quiet life. She moved to Green Manor where she enjoyed being home, spending time with family and friends as well as her cat Cricket. Flowers and decorating was something she really enjoyed, right to the very end. As her health failed she took up residency at Rainycrest. Viola was very fond of her last home, where she made many new friends. She loved talking and telling stories to the staff, her second family. She cared very much for them and they loved her right back.
She leaves behind her daughter Bonnie Carlson; grandchildren Chris, and Gina Carpentier; grandchildren Taya, Andrew, Madison and Kianna;. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Viola was predeceased by her parents; sisters Betty Sivonen, Irene Eisenzoph and Beatrice Matthews; and brother Ron.
Friends are invited to visit with family on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
The honourary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews: Gary, Nancy, MaryAnn, Judy, Terry, Tina, Renae and Edie; close friends Jacque Fiset and Millie Whitefield.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
