It is with profound sadness that the family of Michaela Janelle Smith announces her passing on Wednesday December 12, 2018 in Brampton, ON.
She was born on April 21, 1998 in Fort Frances, ON to Patrick Smith and Susan Paypom. She grew up in Naicatchewenin First Nation. She loved to visit with family and friends and listen to music. She enjoyed writing poetry, stores and singing. She was an outgoing and spontaneous person. She had a great sense of humour and loved to talk about her twin brother Monte. She was very proud of her son, Jace.
Michaela leaves behind her mother Susan Bluebird; father Patrick Smith (Char); son Jace Watson-Smith; siblings Carl Paypom, Sarah Smith (Mike), Montgomery Smith, Peyton Smith and Sierra Fiddler; grandparents Gilbert and Delia Smith; aunts and uncles Don Smith (Heidi), Vern Smith (Cheryl), Tania Smith (Carlos), Val Smith (Esau), Carla Smith (Real), April Bruyere (Matt), Jenn (Dan) Riley, Linda Paypom, Luke Paypom, Carl Paypom and Adeline Paypom (Donovan) as well as numerous cousins that meant so much to her.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Carl and Sarah Paypom; uncle Felix Kokopenace; aunt Shannon Coburn; great aunts Verna Paypom and Barbara Paypom; cousin Yvonne Kakeeway and aunt Rose Paypom.
A visitation will be held on Thursday December 20, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Naicatchewenin First Nation Gymansium. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Elder Ron Indian-Mandimin officiating.
The pallbearers will be Kale Bruyere, Vern Smith, Darren Smith, Carl Paypom, Don Smith and Isaac Smith.
