Freddie was born on September 22, 1935 in Shell River, Manitoba to Joseph and Rose Beck. He was united in marriage to Leda Andrusco on March 21, 1958. He worked at the local paper mill most of his life as an accountant. He was very active in his community, serving for 50 years with the Shriners, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29, Rainycrest Auxiliary and treasurer of Kitchen Creek Golf Club to just name a few. He was a very active member of St. George’s Ukrainian Church and served as a Polymar for many years. He was an outgoing person who loved to stop and chat and seemed to have a nickname for everyone. Freddie loved all sports and participated in as many activities as possible. In his later years he found a passion for golf and many of the trips he and Leda took were planed around courses he wanted to play on.
He leaves behind his wife Leda; daughter Mary Ann and husband Joseph King of Winnipeg, MB; brothers Bennie Beck and Ronald and wife Yvette of Fort Frances; sister-in-law Julie Andrusco of Winnipeg, MB; brother-in-law Billy Andrusco and wife Karen of Arizona as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Freddie was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rose Beck and in laws Walter and Mary Andrusco.
A visitation will be held on Sunday December 17, 2017 at 7 p.m at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home with Father Statkevych officiating.
The pallbearers will be Joe King, Michael Andrusco, Dick Gustafson, Tom Duchnicki, Jim Strachan and Don Zeleny.
Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, ON.
