After a long and full life, Florence Rose Lerman (nee Gioletti & McClymont) was called to her Lord on Monday, 4 November 2019. Born and raised in Huntsville, ON on 27 July 1927, Florence moved with her husband and 3 sons to Fort Frances in the mid 50s. She immediately made herself right at home and settled into the town for the rest of her life.
Along with her wonderful boys and second husband Flo enjoyed a good life of living at their lake home on Rainy Lake during the summers and snowbirding to Florida in the winters. She loved to entertain guests, socialize at functions, and spending time with family and friends.
Florence was very blessed to have had the opportunity to travel the world. With her second husband Dave Lerman, a local merchant and one of the proprietors of Lerman’s Department Store, the couple explored together. They took several cruises through the Mediteranean and Black Seas, toured through countries like Russia, India, China, and Egypt. Flo particularly enjoyed her visits to Europe where she visited cousins and other family in Italy. She spoke of her trip to Paris as one of her favorite.
Both abroad and locally, Florence was an avid collector of ceramics, especially Occupied Japan figurines, original paintings, antiques, and books. She filled her home with both garage sale and boutique finds including afghans, quilts, fine furniture, and always had a gift on hand for visitors and holidays.
When not out gallivanting the world, Florence could be found on the golf course or on the curling rink, in earlier days. She also enjoyed playing bridge, painting ceramics, needlepoint, and gardening. She would stay busy right up until happy hour when she enjoyed a rum and coke almost daily.
Family left to celebrate her life are her Daughter-in-Law Linda McClymont, grandchildren Terry (Theresa), Michael (Michele) and Jessi-Lyn, great grand children Ethan, Sarah, and Tyler, her son David, and her step-Son-in-Law Dave Helgeson. She also leaves behind her best friend of many years Marj Boileau who will miss their daily phone calls and weekends garage sales.
Waiting for her are her husband Dave Lerman, sons Frank and Gary, step-daughter Nancy, and her brother Joe.
The pallbearers will be Terry McClymont, Michael McClymont, Jessi-Lynn Curry, Sarah McClymont, Ethan McClymont and Paul Cousineau.
The honourary pallbearer will be Dave Helgeson.
Donations in her memory can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Youth Group and the Riverside Hospital Auxiliary.
