During her lifetime Anna held many titles: wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma or nana.
She was born in Austria July 23, 1926. On November 30, 1946 she married William (Bill) Beyer and in 1950 she immigrated to Canada with their son and daughter. They settled in Minetaki for a few years and then moved to Atikokan in 1952. In 1954 they had a second son. She was a loving, caring, devoted wife and mother and her family was her utmost priority.
Mom fell in love with the great outdoors and appreciated every season for what it offered. She loved gardening and berry picking. The first time she felt the tug of a fish on her line both her and the fish were firmly hooked. Pine cone picking and ice fishing also made the list of fun things to do. She was quite comfortable in the bush by herself and thoroughly enjoyed her own company. Her love of nature and its bounty were shared with others. When Bill worked for Great Lakes Paper, she loved to visit him at the bush camp where she had the luxury of picking pine cones all day long.
Anna had a very strong Christian faith and was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church.
In 2008, Anna had a stroke and gave up, regretfully, her outdoor activities. Her health continued to deteriorate and in 2013 she was hospitalized.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband of 68 years, Bill; children William (Bill) Jr., Christine Beaulieu and son-in-law Ben, Randy and his wife Giselle; much loved grandchildren of whom she was so proud, Sheri Landon, Lauralee Beaulieu (Alfie), and Raymon Beaulieu (Monica); and one special great grandson, Ryan Landon.
A memorial service for mom will be held Tuesday, September 9 (1 pm) at Faith Lutheran Church, with Pastor Keith Blom officiating. A reception will be held at the Pioneer Centre following the service.
If so desired, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Atikokan General Hospital Foundation.
