She was born on November 18th, 1938 in Evanston, IL to Stephen and Ruth Huck. She grew up in Des Plaines, IL and was the second of 6 children. She married Patrick Joseph Doyle on August 29th, 1964. They set up home in Bellwood, IL and later Nanuet, NY before moving to Itasca, IL to raise their family for 25 years. Paula moved to Elk Grove Village in 1995 after her husband passed and then briefly to Wadena, IA. In 2005, she went to live with her daughter Margaret Stingle in Gurnee, IL. She moved to The Scottish Home in 2013.
She is survived by her children Timothy (Elizabeth Chien) Doyle, Margaret (Gerald) Stingle, Elizabeth (Liam) Ahern, PJ (Sandy) Doyle, Lawrence Doyle, and Catherine (Joseph) Evangelista. She is also survived by her siblings Ellen (Ronald, RIP) Olech, Mary Ann Rasnak (Stephen, RIP Huck), Janice (Thomas) Meurer, Robert (Debra) Huck, Gerard (Rose) Huck and her late husband’s family Fr. Michael Doyle, Anne (Vincent, RIP) Templin and Maureen (Stephen) Reynolds. She has 11 grandchildren Patrick, Madeleine, Elizabeth, Annalise, Jessica, Joe, Siobhán, Catherine, Theodore, Oliver, and Ernest. She has many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews.
Paula enjoyed her family and being a mother. She loved dressing her children in Halloween costumes as well as hosting many family gatherings and celebrations in Itasca. She enjoyed maintaining her yard and garden, flower arranging, sewing many cherished family items including the Doyle family Christening gown, After her husband Patrick died, she dabbled with stain glass works and print design and travelling to Europe on many occasions. She enjoyed reading and when that became challenging, she relished books on tape as well as listening to WGN and WBBM radio stations.
Due to COVID-19, there will be a Celebration of Life at a future date. There will be a private gravesite ceremony and burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
