

Lilyan was born in Brooklyn NY on June 9th,1929 to Bertha and Nathan Wilk. She was the middle of three sisters (Laura and Joyce) and was very close to both. She graduated from Hunter College with a BA in English. After being a stay-at-home mother, Lilyan returned to college and obtained a Masters degree in early childhood education. She taught kindergarten and art for many years.
Lilyan was a very talented painter which she took up in her thirties. Her paintings adorn the homes of many family members. She loved doing art projects with her grandsons when they were young. She also played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice.
Lilyan was a loving wife to Leo who was totally devoted to her during their 72 years of marriage. Lilyan was a wonderful mother to Eric and Cynthia. She was close to and cherished her relationship with her daughter-in-law Ruth as well as with Cynthia’s partner, Uri. She took great pleasure from her grandchildren Jonathan and Adam, their wives Ariel and Sara, as well as her great grandchildren Avrie, Emma, and Charlotte (Charlie). She was an involved and caring daughter, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Lilyan enjoyed a long happy life. She will live forever in our hearts.
A funeral service for Lilyan will be held Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Parkside Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service there will be a committal service from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at Knollwood Park Cemetery, 57-80 Cooper Ave, New York, NY 11385.
