He was born on November 29, 1937 in the Bronx, New York City, to Samuel and Sally (née Kornhauser) Kantrowitz. He attended Flushing High School and graduated from Baruch College. Joseph had a long and successful career as a Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer to companies in New York City and Long Island. He was a hard-working provider and pillar of his family. Joseph enjoyed travel, good food, and reminiscing about the good old days. His upbringing in the Bronx was reflected in his work ethic, his quick wit and ability to make others laugh. He is survived by his wife, Fabiola Kantrowitz; his children, Naomi Kantrowitz (Max Weisman), Roy Kantrowitz (Tiffany Kantrowitz), Stacey Costa and Jodi Bouzas (Dean Bouzas); his grandchildren, James Dean Bouzas, Samantha Bouzas, Vicky Bouzas, Alexandra Costa, Kaitlyn Villeda, Briana Villeda, Elliott Kantrowitz, Mila Kantrowitz, Stella Weisman, Chloe Weisman and Alexa Weisman; great-grandchild Dean Bouzas, and his brother Morton Kantrowitz.
A funeral service for Joseph will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Parkside Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Expressway, Flushing, NY 11367.
