Peter A. Casella

Peter A. Casella of Bayside, New York passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born on July 7, 1945 to Philip and Mary Casella in Brooklyn, New York. Beloved husband to Jeanie, Peter was a wonderful father to Dina and son-in-law Tom, Philip, and Joseph and daughter-in-law Melissa. Loving brother to Phyllis, Kathleen and Francine. Known lovingly as Poppy to Connor, Ian, Madison, Jayla and Joey.

A retired New York City Police Officer, Peter was a hard-working, thoughtful man who always put his family first. A self-proclaimed “people’s advocate”, Peter was someone all could count on for advice and counsel on any matter. Regardless of his personal opinion, he always offered a balanced approach to whatever opportunity or challenge someone would seek his view on. An avid reader, Peter would welcome a healthy discussion on whatever world event or happening was in the news. As a doting father, he was incredibly dedicated to his children’s success, whether on the sports field, business or in life. Taken from us too soon, he will always be in our hearts and minds.

A visitation for Peter will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358.

A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 34-24 203rd Street, Bayside, NY 11361.

A committal service will occur Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Avenue, Fresh Meadows, NY 11365.
