Born in Manhattan in 1940 to Louis and Elena Iervolino, he was raised in Astoria. Anthony pursued carpentry from a young age. He worked as a Foreman in the Carpenters' Union during the construction of the 1964 World's Fair where he supervised 40 men in building the magnificent Spanish Pavilion. In his later years between building many beautiful homes on Long Island he also worked on several major motion picture sets such as the movies Salt and Sherlock Holmes.
In May of 1964 he married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Marie. They bought a beautiful brick home in Flushing where they raised their two children. This coming May would have been their 59th wedding anniversary. Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Marie, his sisters Connie and Louise, his children Renee and Anthony, their spouses, Patrick and Dori, and his adoring grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, and Paul.
His passion for building carried over into his own homes. The Flushing home is a master carpenter's dream having remodeled every inch of it himself. In the early 1990's he built a beautiful summer home for his family from the ground up in the Hamptons. Both of those homes are filled with his love and devotion to family and are a source of comfort for his family today. His favorite past time in his earlier years included playing tennis on Sundays with his brother-in-law Teddy and, in his later years, attending classic car shows and entering his prized possession, a 1957 Chevy. Anthony befriended everyone he met and will be greatly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.frederick-fh.com for the Iervolino family.
