Our beloved Susan “Sue” K. Sheehan, age 68, died peacefully at her Flushing Michigan home surrounded by her family and her very special love. Over the past year she fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Detroit, MI on December 13, 1948, daughter of Richard “Dick” and Nadine Sheehan. Sue graduated from Cooley High School, Detroit 1967 and from the University of Michigan, Flint in 1980 as a Social Worker. Sue was a trusted President/Provider of F.A.I.T.H., Inc. for over 28 years. With the commitment and support of her staff, Sue was able to expand and grow F.A.I.T.H. to eight group homes for the developmentally disabled. She enjoyed playing cards, particularly Euchre and Pinochle, games and reading. Whether she was at a swim meet, softball game, a movie, the Flushing Fairs and activities for families or simply hanging out on her deck by the pool, Gramma Sue enjoyed it all! She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Shelly and her granddaughters. Sue’s adventures with her long-time girlfriends, aka “Pontoon Posse”’, was always a great time and provided treasured memories & funny stories. Over the last few years, Sue and Gary were lucky enough to create great memories on their camping adventures while enjoying nature and the great state of Michigan. Their trip to Hawaii last year was definitely a highlight and proved to be a treasured time. Sue loved unconditionally and was surrounded by those that returned a similar love. Her home was always open and was a central meeting place for our family “birthday weekends” and those moments will be in our hearts forever.
Sue wished to be cremated. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 2PM – 8PM at Reigle Funeral Home - Sunset Chapel - 5501 W Pierson Rd, Flushing, MI.
