Karen was born in Flint, Michigan on May 24, 1963. The daughter of Mario and Stephanie (Simoni) Colonna. She was a graduate of Flushing High School and resided in Flushing her entire life. Karen began her working career at Bueche's Food World in Flushing as Phil Bueche's assistant and then for her brother in law at Schaffer GMC Truck Center, Flint in the accounting department. Her compassion and love for animals prompted her to start her own pet sitting business, "Colonna's Critter Sitting Service", where she cared for many Fur Babies. She was very proud of this achievement and her many customers always commented on how they always could count on her for anything. Karen was also very proud of her Italian Heritage and attended many of the Italian Festivals with family and friends. She enjoyed boating in the summer, cooking, and spending time with family, friends and her beloved cats. Karen was one of the most compassionate and caring women you would ever want to know and her family, many dear friends and customers meant the world to her. Her presence will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her but Heaven has gained an angel. Watch over all of us Karen. Left to cherish her memory are: sister, Suzanne (Donald) Schaffer, brother, Stephen Colonna (Carol Rogers), nieces, Meredith (Brandon) Boone, Holly (Clint) Morey, and Jessica Herron and Josh Smith and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
