Christine was born September 23, 1957 to Jay and Zola Beard in Genesee, MI where she attended Genesee High School where she went on to graduate in 1975. She knew what she wanted to do with her life and went straight to Baker College after high school graduation, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Court Reporting.
Christine had a successful 40 year career in the court reporting industry, which began in 1977. She was a beloved member of the legal community, best known for being the long time owner of Delta Court Reporters.
She was able to successful balance an accomplished career while raising two sons (Nick, 32) and (Clinton, 29). She went above and beyond as a mother and was heavily involved in their education and any interest either son took up. She never missed a single soccer game, and even stepped up to coach at one point. Her door was always open to all her sons’ friends, earning the title of second mom to many.
She is survived by her aforementioned sons, brothers Michael Beard and Troy Beard, as well as sister Toni Van Dongen and brother in law John Van Dongen. She was a beloved mother and sister, and is missed dearly.
Christine was widely regarded as one of, if not the most selfless person many had ever met. Her family had this to say: “She was someone who helped create many lasting memories for friends and family, and she never closed her door on anyone. She believed in the principles of family and bringing people together. She had an impact on so many peoples’ lives.”
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Carriage Town Ministries in Christine's honor.
