Teresa Mary Maloney, longtime resident of Palm Coast, FL. passed away on June 13, 2021 at the age of 90 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. Teresa was born July 17, 1930 in New York City, the daughter of John Joseph and Teresa Kelly Brown. She grew up in Clason Point NY, later moved to Westport CT and retired from the A&P Grocery Store to move to Palm Coast in 1997.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 74 years, Robert H. Maloney; two sons, Dennis (Michela) Maloney of Hope ME, and Gene Maloney of Southport CT; two daughters, Eileen Maloney of Palm Coast FL, and Kerrie (Kurt) Slafkovsky of Deland FL, along with three cherished Slafkovsky grandchildren – Erin (21), Matthew (18) and Katie (9). Teresa was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Brown of Palm Coast and will be dearly missed by her beloved Sister-in-Law, Frances Brown of Islip NY.
Teresa was an amazing mother, grandmother (lovingly called Meema), and cook. Her signature dishes were stuffed cabbage, lasagna, and potato salad. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, making patchwork quilts, and decorating the house for every single holiday. Teresa adored her family. Found among her papers in her prayer book was the following very appropriate quote by St. Theophane Venard: “Happiness is found only in the home and in the family circle where God is loved and honored, and everyone loves and helps and cares for the other.”
