Roberta Olga Louise Ford passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2021, at age 33. Known affectionately as ‘Fathema’ by her family and close friends, she was born in Queens, New York, on September 2, 1987. She was the only child of Gary Ford and Donna Marie Gatlin. Roberta was a bright child with a contagious laugh and an innovative spirit.
In her young years, she enjoyed horseback riding, tennis, reading, and playing musical instruments. Roberta’s favorite cartoon show was SpongeBob Squarepants, and at one point, she even owned a SpongeBob-designed TV set! In her teen years, she moved to Palm Coast, Florida, and graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School in 2006. Roberta attended Greensboro College in North Carolina, where she majored in psychology. Upon her return to Palm Coast, Roberta pursued a career in customer service and used her infectious personality to help people. Roberta loved music, sports, and animals. She was a great dancer and liked to get the party started!
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, amusement parks, going to the movies, and visiting the beach. She will be greatly missed. Roberta is survived by her father and her grandparents, Olga and Leonard Ford. She is also remembered by her extended family, including many aunties, uncles, and cousins residing in the United States, Jamaica, and the United Kingdom.
Visitation will be held on June 7, 2021, at 10:30 am at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida. Funeral Service will be held on June 7, 2021, at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5400 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL. Interment Ceremony will be held on June 7, 2021, at 3:15 pm at Flagler Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida. Those who wish to remember Roberta in a special way may make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans Charity in her name.
