Bob Rizzo, 82, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on February 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 10, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Paul and Mary Rizzo. Bob served in the US Army, upon his honorable discharge he went to work at the Scarsdale Police Department where he started on Patrol and retired as a Detective. He received numerous commendations & awards during his distinguished career and was featured in a book named “The Yale Murder”. In 1995 he built a home in Palm Coast and in 2000 he retired and moved permanently. Bob was a member of the Police Athletic League and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Council #2264. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest love was being with his beloved family. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Rizzo. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Nancy; brother Michael (Marie) Rizzo children, Robert Rizzo Jr., Charles (Andrea) Rizzo; step-children, Colleen Ferguson, Chris Cassidy; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice.
A funeral mass for Bob will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N Central Ave, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136.
