Patsy Ann Fickle

Patsy Ann (Braziel) Fickle, 90, of Melbourne, Florida, passed peacefully and went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2024. She was born one of seven children to Eula Mae (Jones) and Henry Grady Braziel on July 7, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, James H. Fickle; her devoted son, David Robert Fickle; her son-in-law, James David Norris; 5 of her 6 siblings – Jack Braziel, Nina (Braziel) Tyler, Ray Braziel, Betty (Braziel) Rogers, and Peggy (Braziel) Dillard.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Fickle) Norris; daughter-in-law, Norma Jean (Cox) Fickle; 4 grandchildren – Sheila Norris, James Eric Norris (Robin), Courtney Coombe, and Ashley Whitaker (Lewis); and 8 great-grandchildren – Joshua Norris, Alex Norris, Jeremiah Whitaker, Jaxon Coombe, Jakob Coombe, Dylan Whitaker, Scott Volheim, and Tiffany McConnell; and younger sister, Nancy Duke (Larry).

Patsy moved with her parents and siblings from Detroit to Chattanooga, Tennessee during her early teen years where she later met Jim, the man she would be fortunate enough to spend over 62 beautiful years of marriage with until his passing. She retired from Sears in 1987 as the Store Manager’s Secretary and then went on to be a successful Team Leader with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Patsy and Jim loved to travel, and she was always the life of the party in gatherings with family and friends. She had an amazing sense of humor and was known until her later years to always have her hair, makeup, and outfits just so! She was a full-time resident of nursing homes in Palm Coast and Melbourne, Florida after Jim’s passing in 2013 where she loved to play bingo, participate in holiday gatherings, and attend church services offered. The latter especially brought her great comfort after the passing of her son in 2023.
