Originally, a native of Staten Island, NY, Lawrence Borg, 78, moved to Palm Coast, FL on October 27, 1989. He passed away November 11, 2024 at 5:32 PM, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife, Patricia (Habicht) Borg, his daughters Stacie Beaulieu, Lauren Heinonen.
He leaves his Step-daughter, Deborah Velez, grandchildren, Alexxis, Christian, Devin, Teagan, Rayna and many other family members from New York, New Jersey and Florida.
Mr. Borg retired from the New York Department of Sanitation in district 4. He came to Florida and Worked for ITT as a subcontractor.
Larry served in the US Army, 4th Infantry, serving 3 tours in the Vietnam War during the TET offensive.
Larry was a machine gunner with the 3rd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Infantry division. He was injured two times during the war, where he received a Purple Heart. He then was promoted to Army Specialist where he was also trained in Guerrilla Warfare.
Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to travel, bring the community together, and help others.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Concetta (Verdiglione) Borg, father, Emil Borg, a sister, Laura Siani and two brothers Leonard and Joseph Borg.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, November 19 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday November 20 at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Family will also be receiving friends one hour prior to the Mass.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
